Anul 2019 vine cu modificări importante privind acordarea trofeului Grammy. La patru dintre cele mai importante categorii, adică Best New Artist, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Album Of The Year, sunt câte opt nominalizări, nu cinci, cum erau până în prezent.
Cardi B are câte o nominalizare atât la Album Of The Year cât și la Record Of The Year, în timp ce Dua Lipa și Bebe Rexha se ”bat” cu alți artiști debutanți, la categoria Best New Artist. Gala de decernare a premiilor Grammy va avea loc pe 10 februarie 2019.
